Farmland Preservation Areas – areas mapped for preservation were based on fact-based rationale outlined within the Farmland Preservation Plan as follows: zoning, past farmland preservation participation, aerial photos (historic use), consistency, soils, lands covered under forest management, capital investments and connectivity. Transition Areas – areas designated within the Eau Claire County Comprehensive Plan that are located in close proximity to developed lands and that are likely to be developed within the next 15 years based on community expectations and preference. Excluded Areas – areas excluded from preservation may include: small and large lot residential development; areas covered by a non-certified zoning district; large marsh or wetland areas; and other areas that are unrelated to agricultural uses.</SPAN></P></DIV></DIV></DIV> |
